all things extensions

What kinds of extensions do you use?

  • hand tied wefts

  • machine sewn wefts

  • flex wefts

  • tape ins

What method do you use to apply my extensions?

Simply put, I specialize in application via a sewn in beaded weft method. I am certified through two different companies, Hot Heads and Laced Hair Extensions. I also trained in a Nashville hair salon under a Bellami certified stylist. The majority of my clients strictly wear wefts sewn in via a combination of these methods, although I do occasionally use tape ins to supplement or fill in gaps when necessary.

How often do I need to have my extensions maintenanced?

In general, I like to see my clients every six to eight weeks. At this appointment, I will fully remove and reinstall their extensions to ensure the integrity of their hair.

How long will my hair extensions last?

Your hair extensions should last 6-9 months with proper maintenance and care. With nearly perfect maintenance and care, your hair could last up to 12 months. I will not reinstall hair past this point to ensure optimal results.

What products do I need to care for my hair extensions?

  • professional grade shampoo and conditioner

  • a hair mask

  • a hair oil

  • silk or satin pillowcase

How do I care for my hair extensions?

  • Brush your hair extensions thoroughly using an extensions safe brush (like a wet brush) several times per day. If you do not have a brush handy, you can use your fingers to gently remove tangles.

  • Be sure to braid your extensions loosely before bed and sleep on a silk or satin pillowcase.

  • Always dry your extensions thoroughly before sleeping. NEVER sleep on wet hair extensions.

  • Use a hair mask once weekly to hydrate and replenish your hair extensions. This will help to maintain the integrity of your hair.

  • Make sure to use a hair oil daily and apply generously from your mids to ends.

  • Be sure to use a physical, mineral based sunscreen only and avoid direct contact with your extensions. Most chemical sunscreens contain several ingredients that can permanently discolor the hair.

  • Follow your recommended maintenance schedule.
